The aim of this animation was to act as a trailer for The Egg story by Andy Weir, creating the urge to find out more about the story and urging the audience to keep a more open mind when contemplating the reason for our existence.

Taking a piece of text (written or spoken) as your starting point, create a sequence that complements, enhances or subverts the content. You will engage with narratives, design and produce storyboards, undertake tests and produce a short motion sequence of between 20 seconds and two minutes duration. You may consider using a TED talk as a starting point, a poem or edit a section of written text using a ‘cut-up’ method as pioneered by William Burroughs. Make sure you analyse the text and consider how imagery works with that text. While the work can be experimental and explore the formal properties of media form it must have an identifiable and considered context and audience.
I knew the walk cycles would be a challenge as there was so many frames to animate to get smooth realistic motion. I made the soundtrack in logic using audio loops and midi to make the melody line and drums. The dialogue was also really important to get right, I used a range of effects to achieve the sound including pitch shifting, reverb, delay and panning.
