Hi, I’m Dan,

Creative thinker who is inspired by the Swiss Style and lover of clean simple design solutions.

I am a recent graduate of graphic design at Arts University Bournemouth where I worked on live briefs and was shortlisted and Highly commended in JDO RAW and Creative Conscience.

Like everyone, the pandemic presented many challenges and although my studies were disrupted, I try to see the experience for its advantages. It has given me the capability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and find creative ways of achieving targets with limited access to resources.

One of my most recent projects was to create an experimental typeface to aid digital media producing content for online activists. I managed to successfully integrate programs such as P5.js, Blender, Cinema 4D as well as developing an understanding of how to use Glyphs in under a week. the outcome was a variable for that could be adjusted with sliders to create individuality for the user and increase impact.

I am confident working digitally and have some experience with HTML CSS and JS. I have been fortunate enough to work in advertising team at Samsung Uk, presenting my concepts to the board which were subsequently taken forward for the release of their flagship phone. I also interned for Bond and Coyne during the pandemic, which taught me valuable lessons about how the different stages of a client brief are handled. Uniquely, I also got to experience how a creative company can adapt to big challenges such as a pandemic.

I gained a lot of experience with producing OOH content when designing logos and printed media for Oxygen, a youth work charity based in Kingston, tackling the issue of knife crime. During the project I made shopfront signage, printed media, t-shirts, brand identity, booklets, posters and helped with website maintenance. I have also create album covers for local bands and help with social media content.

I am always keen to learn and demonstrate my capabilities in a variety of settings, wether as part of a team, in an agency or as a freelance designer. I offer strong conceptual thinking, an aptitude for experimentation. My degree has given me a broad understanding of graphic design and a comprehensive skillset, particularly in type and layout, with proficiency in 3d design and motion graphics.
